Flat Sewn Brooms
Small brooms and Brushes
Stalk Weaving
Sorting Material for binding
2-3 different materials for hand brooms and brushes

This 2 day workshop will cover the basics of Appalachian broom making. Each student will make 2 handled brooms (1 cobbwebber & 1 full sweep) + 1-3 hand brooms & brushes with different materials & designs. (If you wish to make more hand brooms/brushes you can purchase additional material!)
The workshop will run 2 days - Saturday 10-17 & Sunday 10-17. There is a good possibility that we end early on Sunday if we can complete all the projects!
MATERIAL COST
Materials costs are not included in the fee and will be around 60-80 euro - paid for at the end of the workshop based on how many pieces you made/material was used. Payments can be made with cash or card.
FOOD
Coffee & Tea are included in the workshop fee but we ask that you bring your own lunch.
LANGUAGE
The workshop will be taught in English. If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you don’t speak or understand English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
ACCOMODATION
If you like to stay over night please get in touch. There is some place to camp and maybe a possibility to stay indoors. Please get in touch.
OTHER NOTES
Additional tools may be available for purchase at the workshop. This will be dependent on remaining stock after our travels.
If money is a barrier please reach out and we will do our best to find what fits.
This workshop will be held at De Houtbewaarder https://houtbewaarder.be at Rijckerstraaat 24, Wetteren.
