Sy-& Hantverk - Shrink Pot Carving Workshop - 11-15 Saturday 22nd, February 2025, Stockholm

€39.50

Shrink Pots (krympkruka) are nice projects for beginners as well as for more experienced carvers. With just a handful of tools you’ll learn how to make useful containers for your home or a perfect gift for your loved ones. These little storage boxes can be designed in a variety of ways, with a lot of room for creativity.

During a 1/2 day shrink pot carving class we will mainly focus on hollowing and finishing the base of the pot. You’ll have the possibility to make more than one shrink pot or explore making a lid as well.

Workshop starts at 11 and ends around 15. Some may finish early!

What we will cover:

Wood Selection

Hollowing & carving the inside of the container

Sizing and shaping the base

Preparing a lid (if there is time)

Given the time we will talk about decoration, alternative forms, tool selections, etc.

All tools and materials will be provided.

The workshop will be held as a part of Sy-& Hantverk Festivalen held at Alvsjö Mässan in Stockholm. Entry tickets into the market is booked separately via there website or in person.

See our other workshops here.

The workshop will be taught in English. If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you don’t speak or understand English. So much of the learning depends on seeing and with the help of others for translation we will make it through.
