Hook tools for Pole Lathe Turning
Tip Up + Tip Down
These Hooks are made to turn green wood on a foot powered pole lathe, such as bowls and plates. They are completely hand forged from O1 tool steel, sharpened and ready to use.
Although it’s possible to turn an entire bowl with just one of the variations (tip up or tip down), we highly recommend a set of two of them to have more flexibility in creating forms and make certain cuts easier.
They are easy to sharpen with a cone shaped diamond file and a flat diamond file or a fine stone.
All our tools come tested and without a handle.
Locking Lid Box Tool Set
This is a specific tool set to turn Locking Lid Boxes on a foot powered pole lathe.
They are in addition to the regular tip up and tip down tools.

The “Scraping Tool“ is made to scrape the channel in the lid piece in order to make it fit on your box.
The “Reverse Hook“ is made to turn away the material under the little lip of your box where the lid sits on. This cut is made in a reverse turn where your box turns away from you.
The two different bends, the “Half Bend” & “Full Bend” allow you to create a deep undercut and a belly shaped box.
They are completely hand forged from O1 tool steel, sharpened and ready to use.
They are easy to sharpen with a cone shaped diamond file and a flat diamond file or a fine stone.
