Come turn with us for 1 or 2 days. 2 days is recommended to have a better opportunity to get the technique in your body and also if you are coming for a more advanced project (you already have experience). But we are also happy for those only able to join on Saturday to come for just one day!
This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the full experience of Pole Lathe Bowl Turning. During this class you will learn to safely axe out a bowl blank, and then using the lathe turn a wooden bowl. You will have ample time to complete a good size eating bowl. In this class we will also cover sourcing wood, sharpening turning tools, chat about design and more.
If you already have experience with turning on a pole lathe (svegsvarv) then you are welcome to join and work on more advanced projects like cup turning, locking lid boxes, handled bowls, etc. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
All tools & materials will be provided by the instructor.
Workshops start at 10 am and end around 5. We ask that you arrive a little before 10 in order to get settled.
FOOD
Coffee & Tea are included in the workshop fee but we ask that you bring your own lunch.
LANGUAGE
The workshop will be taught in English. If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you don’t speak or understand English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.
ACCOMODATION
If you like to stay over night please get in touch. There is some place to camp and maybe a possibility to stay indoors. Please get in touch.
OTHER NOTES
Additional tools may be available for purchase at the workshop. This will be dependent on remaining stock after our travels.
