Pole Lathe Building, Forging & Turning Week - November 7th-13th/16th

€750.00

Join us at our home workshop for a full immersion into pole lathe bowl turning—starting from the ground up. Over six focused days, we’ll build our own spring pole lathes, forge turning tools in the smithy, and spend a full day learning to turn bowls. Arrive Friday, November 7th and settle in; participants are also welcome to stay on through the 13–16th for our turning weekend (the Biannual Svegsvarv LAN), an informal gathering of turners & carvers.

This is a deep dive for those ready to commit time, energy, and curiosity to the craft. We’ll cook meals together, unwind in the sauna, and share in the kind of work that rewards attention and community.

Tools & Materials:

The price is inclusive of the use of our tools and all the materials for the lathe & for the tools you will forge.

Accommodation:

We have space for 3–5 people to stay in shared rooms in our home, along with plenty of space for camping or parking your own camper or van if you’d prefer sleeping outside. (Partners and children are welcome to be here as well. We would ask for them to pay for food so they can share in our meals)

Location & Getting here:

The workshop will be held at our home workshop outside Ödeshög, Sweden.

If you need to come by public transportation we can pick you up from Ödeshög or Mjölby.

Note that you will need a car to take your newly built Pole Lathe home with you.

If you are coming from abroad/flying/train we can look at what it would cost to ship the lathe back to your home (please get in touch).

Language:

The workshop will be taught in English (Oliver also speaks German, and we both speak a bit of Swedish). If language is a barrier we are confident you will learn even if you don’t speak or understand English. So much of the learning depends on seeing, feeling, and hearing the sounds as well.

Food:

The price is inclusive of food, coffee & tea that we will pre-shop and that we can cook together. Meals will be simple, seasonal, and delicious.

If you have dietary preferences please let us know when you sign up.

We invite you each to bring something simple to share for Fika.

Payment Plan:

We are happy to offer a payment plan option. Please email us and we will send you the link to pay over there months. THE FULL FEE MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE COURSE!
