Tampico Fiber, also known as Ixtle or Mexican Fiber, is a soft to medium flexible plant fiber from a group of cacti, mainly Yucca & Agave grown and processed in Mexico.

With a rich history and world wide modern day use with many purposes. Tampico is ideal for brushes made for scrubbing, sweeping, painting, decor, tactile stimulation, or ritual/altar spaces. 

It can also be used in weaving, rope making, and other crafts.

Length: 200, 250 or 300 cm. Check back regularly for more variety of length.

Sold by Weight in quantities of 250 gr., 500, gr. Or 1kg bundles. (250 gr is enough for 2-4 brushes depending on size and length of fibers)

This fiber is not treated with any chemicals and is 100% biodegradable, but will simple care will last many years or decades.

In short lengths tampico is stiff and great for nail and body brushes, and in longer lengths for brooms or tactile brushes it is more soft and flexible.

Tampico is a natural fiber and will oxidize slightly with light exposure. You can see in one of the photos the difference in color, one being more yellow and one a bit more orange. The bundles may also contain minimal signs of plant remnants from the agave plant.
