Craft Broomcorn with Stalk - Material for Broom Making

Broomcorn, Sorghum vulgare var. technicum or Sorghum Bicolor, is the best fiber for sturdy handbrooms and handled sweepers. Grown and processed in Mexico.

With a rich history and world wide modern day use with many purposes.

Sold by the kg. (250- 500 gr is typical for a cobweb broom depending on the size of handle and 800-1000gr is typical for a regular sweeping broom)

Length: Craft Broomcorn is variable in length. These have been grown and processed for long fibers. We recommend ordering more than you need for one project so you can make the most of the fiber you are getting. To learn more about traditional broom making keep an eye out for our courses.

This fiber is not treated with any chemicals and is 100% biodegradable, but with simple care will last many years or decades.

-45cm/18in.

-55cm/22in.
